UK flight news: UK-bound flight diverted after ‘potential bomb’ was reported on board

A flight from Poland to the UK was asked to change its route because of a possible threat of a bomb on board on 4 December. The EasyJet flight was moving from Krakow to Bristol, but the pilot made an emergency landing at the Prague International airport. The police authorities immediately searched the plane for a bomb.

The Prague airport law enforcement confirmed via Twitter that the low-cost English flight – EZY6276 – had landed in the capital’s airport at ten minutes to eleven (local time). The tweet also said that there was an account of a possible bomb on board, but the officials have taken the necessary steps to ensure the protection of all the passengers. The police department was immediately notified of the situation.

According to a report by PTI, India has suspended all passenger flights connecting to the UK from Wednesday till December 31 in the wake of the emergence of a mutated variant of the coronavirus there, joining several other countries that have imposed a similar flight ban. Moreover, passengers coming from the UK through flights till Tuesday midnight would be tested for COVID-19 on arrival at airports “as a measure of abundant precaution”, the Civil Aviation Ministry said on Monday.

The Czech Republic police department also posted a tweet in Czech which said that the bomb squad and investigators were on the scene to thoroughly sweep the plane for any explosives.

The official Twitter page of Prague Airport said that nothing dangerous had been found on the flight.
